Glasgow is mostly known for its music scene. But when one speaks to Glawegian musicians, they are often interested in skateboarding. Here, skateboarding is really part of the city’s culture.

To get to know the skateboarding scene, I was advised to go to Kelvingrove skatepark. I also went for a walk towards SWG3, a wasteland turned into an artistic place. Street culture has its rightful place there.

A Glaswegian friend also told me about a big project, in the DIY spirit. The Glasgow skaters community hopes to build a huge skatepark under the M74 motorway bridge. The advantage would be to be protected from the rain and to skate whatever the weather. The project is in progress. To be continued !
