a-dip-in-the-fairy-pools-2

A dip in crystal clear waters, are you up for it? The Fairy Pools are natural bowls dug into the rock of Isle of Skye. To reach them, you have to walk a little. From the Glenbrittle car park, it took me about twenty minutes, with good walking shoes.

Once there, you are rewarded. In front of me the Fairy Pools are spread out, with their waterfalls and their turquoise water. I feels like I’m in the tropics! But the Fairy Pools are misleading. Because if the water « looks » hot, it’s just not. Depending on the sensitivities, it is cold, very cold or downright freezing. Even for a Scotsman!

This false impression may be a trick from the fairies! It is said that if you put your head under water, you can see them. I did not see them. But with or without fairies, it really is a magical place!
