It only takes me 5 minutes from Princes Street shopping street to get into a postcard setting. Dean Village is a unique neighbourhood, which seems far away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
It has not always been the case. In the past, water mills operated at full capacity to produce flour and feed the people of Edinburgh. On the oldest buildings, you can see engraved plates representing bread.
Today, Dean Village is much more peaceful! The walks on the cobbled streets are always very pleasant.
My steps guide me to the edge of the river, Water of Leith. A yellow house catches my eye, while the sky darkens. I envy the people of Edinburgh. They are lucky to have such a beautiful city!
