Stopping at the Bays Community Centre for a bite to eat is a bit like having tea at Scottish granny’s. Here, everything is homemade and the tablecloths have flowers. During summer, the Bays Centre turns into a small stage to eat. On the Bays Café menu, you’ll find bacon and cheddar toasts, soup of the day or a selection of cakes. The kitchen and the service are provided by the inhabitants. It’s simple and it’s good.
If you want to pass by, it is better to check their Facebook page. The Bays Community Centre remains a room dedicated to islanders. Some days, the Bays Café is closed because the room is taken up for an event.
Moreover, when we look at the bulletin board of the room, we see that the community is dynamic. For example, Wednesday night is Ceilidh night. The floor of the great hall finds its vocation: to resound the steps of traditional dancers. Beginners and visitors are welcome. It makes me want to try!
