In Scotland, I often feel the strength of the elements. In front of the lochs, the mountains and the forests, I always feel part of a whole much bigger than me. That’s exactly what I experienced at Dunadd, and I’m not the only one!
Dunadd Hill has a fascinating history. It was one of the strongholds of the Dalriada kings. I was told that the Dalriada kings came from Ireland more than 1500 years ago. Their people were known as « Scotti« , they later gave their name to Scotland.
At the top of the hill, I noticed the ruins of the fort. I could also see a stone in which a step is carved. The Dalriada kings would put their foot in this hole and stood facing the landscape. I think it was a beautiful way to unify with the land of Scotland.
