Kintyre Peninsula is quite imposing. So, to avoid having to go around it, in 1801, the Scots built the great Crinan Canal. In just 14.5 km, we leave the Firth of Clyde to join the Sound of Jura.
When you do not have a sailboat, Crinan Canal can be a great place for a stroll! Along the towpath, I could admire the boats. That one was manoeuvring.
As a good Scot, after a long walk, I think nothing beats a good cup of tea. The village of Crinan has a small coffee shop. I’m told the cakes – and the view – are great!
