In a Newton Stewart pub, I talked with the regulars. Everyone told me that biking is a great way to discover the forests of southern Scotland. For this, they mentioned Galloway Forest Park.
It is the starting point for two of the 7 stanes, 7 tracks cut for mountain biking and spread across Scotland. From the Kirroughtree Visitor Centre, I was able to rent a bike and discover my first 7 stanes. There are tracks for all levels.
I started with the blue track. The difficulty level is low. I’d rather be careful. And the landscapes are beautiful. Everyone praised the beauty of the views around Larg Hill. That giant wheel is the beginning of the hike. Let’s go!
