From a distance, it looks like a carapace. Up close, it looks more like boat hulls. The Clyde Auditorium is one of Glasgow’s most iconic concert halls. Opened in 2000, it quickly took on the nickname Armadillo.

The Armadillo is located on the banks of the Clyde River. In that sector of the quays, we come across very futuristic architectures. On foot, I think it’s a nice walk.

As I was told, the Armadillo’s inspiration comes from the river. In the past, Glasgow was known worldwide for its shipyards. Today, this industry has declined significantly. But we find a trace of it in the inset half-hulls that form the structure of the auditorium. I like this Armadillo!
