Ullapool, a stroll on the harbor

Ullapool has 1300 inhabitants, but it is the “biggest city” for miles around ! When holidaying in the North Highlands, it’s often there that people come to shop and buy whatever they’re missing.

I think Ullapool is a charming harbour, well sheltered in Loch Broom. Scots have been fishing there for centuries … and it’s where salmon and herring are smoked ! I advise you to have a taste. At the Ullapool smoke house, we even have a secret ingredient to give an inimitable taste, malt whisky !

In addition to fishing boats, the port of Ullapool hosts ferries. From Ullapool, I can reach Stornoway, then explore the Isle of Lewis and Harris and the Outer Hebrides.
