People call these gorges « Finnich Glen » or « Devil’s Pulpit ». I prefer the « Devil’s Pulpit », I think it suits this place which is a little mysterious.

To reach these gorges, you have to go down an old steep flight of stairs. I advise you to take good walking shoes, the stairs are very slippery. There is a rope to grab but it is better to be well clamped.

From the top of the stairs, we can’t really see where we are going. But 30 meters below, we discover gorgeous gorges. Much wider than I had imagined. Here, the colors are incredible. There is green, red, orange, brown. The water even has an amber color. Some say it’s Scotch Whisky!

I presume it really is water. But Scotland is a country full of surprises!

NB: Be wary of the weather if you come to Finnich Glen. In case of rain, the water can rise quickly. Pick a nice day to go!
