The Isle of Iona is very small, but it is a must-see if you are holidaying on the Isle of Mull. It only takes 10 minutes by ferry to reach Iona.

Everything there oozes Scottish history. It was in Iona, in the 6th century, that an Irish missionary introduced Christianity to the region. As far as I know, it was also there that the first kings of Scotland were buried.

The Isle of Iona is popular among those who want to relax. Artists also go there for inspiration. Myself, I like going there to spend the day. When I watch the lights change, I tell myself that the island does have something sacred!
