To find Garry Beach, it’s simple, you have to go to the end of the road! From Stornoway, you cannot miss it. You get there in an hour. The beach is exactly at the end of the tarmac road. Beyond, it’s the bog!

Arriving on the small car park next to the beach, I saw several vans. They are big enough to house surfboards. Scotland has some of the best surf spots in Europe, and Garry Beach is one of them.

From what the surfers I met told me, Garry Beach is a great beach to learn to surf. It’s also a great place for experienced surfers. When the sun is out, the sea takes on turquoise reflections. With a good wetsuit, we could think we’re much further south!
