It is often a tradition in northern European cities. Houses and shops are painted in all colours. I guess it’s a way to bring some light, especially in the middle of winter when the nights are long.

As soon as the sun comes out, these colours are even brighter. Victoria Street is perhaps the most beautiful street in Edinburgh. As I went up and down, I really fell under its spell.

Victoria Street draws a surprising curve, which connects the Royal Mile to Grassmarket. This street also has the distinction of being on two levels. On the way up, I walked on the sidewalk, back down I went through the terraces for a pleasing stroll!
